Suggested TEACH Act Copyright Notice
One of the requirements of the TEACH Act exception is that the "transmitting body or institution--
(i)institutes policies regarding copyright, provides informational materials to faculty, students, and relevant staff members that accurately describe, and promote compliance with, the laws of the United States relating to copyright, and provides notice to students that materials used in connection with the course may be subject to copyright protection.."
No specific or mandatory language is included other than that quoted above. Additionally, the Senate Report accompanying the Act merely states: "Further, the transmitting organization must provide notice to recipients that materials used in connection with the course may be subject to copyright protection. These requirements are intended to promote an environment of compliance with the law, inform recipients of their responsibilities under copyright law, and decrease the likelihood of unintentional and uninformed acts of infringement."
Therefore, in a good faith effort to meet this requirement, the following language is offered and should be posted at or near the beginning of the course content where it is likely to be seen by the students:

The materials on this course Web site are only for the use of students enrolled in this course for purposes associated with this course and may not be retained or further disseminated.
